I purchased my Bernina 180 when it came out in 1998 and continue to love this workhorse over any of my machines.
Some years back it developed the "cataract" as you call it.
The Bernina repair guy suggested i buy a used 180 off ebay, about $800. at that time and he would take the needed part and switch out.
I did not know what part, what caused this but all in would be over a thousand for a used part that may also break next week.
I happened on your you tube channel accidently and stopped to watch when I saw you were working on the 180. I was so surprised to hear you were going to address

I immediately ordered the LCD screen from you and it arrived two days earlier than the expected date.
The packaging was amazing, nothing was going to damage that item.
I rewatched the video many times then set everything up to delve into it.
I had told my neighbor about finding your ste and ordering the part, suddenly he appeared at my door wanting to help with the repair.
I put your video on my laptop and took photos of wiring with tablet and he began the "teardown."
For first time in years I can see my screen, I am thrilled and so grateful.
My one issue is it's not as bright as should be but my guess is that screen when I took it off and cleaned it, it looked cloudy but I did not want to use a chemical on it. I think that is why it's less bright than I want and had I realized I would have ordered the screen as well but I can see it which is wonderful.
Sorry for this long story but I want to share one thing, for pushing the various connections out and back in where you use that plastic stick, i used what's called an orange stick, the little wood piece we use in manicures. It is perfect for those parts and my neighbor agreed.

OMG, I'm so excited. The installation of the new LCD screen for my Bernina Artista was so easy and the video that went step by step was great. My husband installed the LCD screen in about 10 minutes. I can finally start embroidering again. LOVE LOVE the new screen and easy installation.
